Another World by JTRumley Another World by JTRumley
Spent around two hours on this one, and it turned out much better than I anticipated. My Photoshop skills are improving massively :)

C&C greatly appreciated!

Hey,
Just two things and they both relate to the ringed planet in the background;
1. You have put stars where the rest of the planet should be [the dark side. This means that the stars are closer than the planet, or the planet is transparent......... ;)
2. Many people use the twirl filter to create the rings; it's OK, but there is a much better way using Polar Co-ordinates - there are several tutes on it here on DA, so I'll leave you to do the research if you're interested.

Otherwise, a nice image.
Photoshop is one of those programs where you will never learn everything you can do with it................
I reckon even the software developers don't know it all.................
There are so many ways of achieving the same effect; some better than others. But in the end, the most important person to impress is yourself.
Above I have mentioned two things that I personally would change; but I am far from being an expert in any form of art and it is, after all, only my honest opinion which I hope has been of some help to you...........

I really like it. I love the Saturn in the background. Some improvments, on the main planet there shouldn't be any visibility on the edge of the planet thats facing away from the light source. That would make it look much better :)
Over all, the flare gives it a great touch to it.

Thanks! I really appreciate the kind words :) And I see what you mean about the visibility on the edge, I hadn't picked up on that, so I'll keep it in mind for future work. Again, thank you.
